The History of the Essex Society for Family History

Part 3 - The 1990's

The Society's third branch, the South East Essex Branch, based in Westcliff near Southend-on-Sea was formed in 1991.

This was followed 2 years later by a fourth branch, the West Essex Branch, based in Harlow.

The Chelmsford Computer Group was also set up in 1993.

In 1997 the Society took its first steps into the on-line world by setting up its very first website.

1999 saw the Society enter the world of on-line sales, being one of the initial 10 Family History Societies to have a "stall" on GENfair.
