a talk by
The talk tells the fascinating story of the historic Easton Lodge estate from the late 1500s to the present day, focusing primarily on the period since 1865, when three-year-old Frances Evelyn Maynard inherited the estate and the vast fortunes that came with it. Little Frances, known as “Daisy”, went on to become the Countess of Warwick and this talk outlines the work she did in the Gardens and the wider community – including an intimate friendship with King Edward VII. It covers the development of the Gardens and her own life and times – and what is going on in the Gardens today.
