Restored Tudor House in the Village of Writtle near Chelmsford

Church of St Andrew, Greensted-jixta-Ongar. The oldest wooden church in the world and the oldest wooden building standing in Europe. The nave of this Saxon church is built of logs.

St John the Baptist Church, Little Maplestead often known as the Round Church because it has a circular Nave. It was built by the Knights Hospitaller c1340.

Cressing Temple built by the Knights Templar c1137. This photograph is of the Barley Barn recognised as the oldest timber-framed barn in the world.

Stony Lane, Thaxted

Heybridge Basin where the Chelmer and Blackwater canal meets the river Blackwater. This view looks across the river to the low lying Northey Island.
